Welcome to "Memory" Lodge
We are a very friendly lodge which meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month between September and April at Farfield Masonic Hall in Connah's Quay, North Wales. The Lodge installs a new Master each September.
If you have come to our site looking for a place to make new friends, you will not find a more happier home to join than "Memory" Lodge. We are a Lodge committed to Freemasonry of the highest standard and in a friendly, supportive environment.
If you have any queries about The "Memory" Lodge, or Freemasonry in general, please contact our Lodge Secretary, W. Bro Gareth Dudley at memory.lodge.4264@outlook.com.
We hope the information contained in this website, linked with that of the Province of North Wales website and the United Grand Lodge of England website, is useful in helping you understand what we are about and helps to dismiss any myths which may have arisen.
To become a Freemason a man has to apply to join a Lodge and convince the members that he is of good repute, a believer in the God of his religion and prepared to be generous in charitable giving. We welcome men of any race, colour or religion. Our aim is to make good men better by being reminded of their duty to society, law abiding and conscious of the needs of those less fortunate, both masons and non-masons alike.
Freemasonry means different things to each of those who join. For some, it’s about making new friends and acquaintances. For others it’s about being able to help deserving causes – making a contribution to family and society. But for most, it is an enjoyable hobby. Freemasonry is one of the world’s oldest and largest non-religious, non-political, fraternal and charitable organisations. Members are expected to be of high moral standing and are encouraged to speak openly about Freemasonry.
Freemasonry is a society of men concerned with moral and spiritual values. Its members are taught its principles (moral lessons and self-knowledge) by a series of ritual dramas – a progression of allegorical two-part plays which are learnt by heart and performed within each Lodge – which follow ancient forms, and use stonemasons’ customs and tools as allegorical guides.
Freemasonry instils in its members a moral and ethical approach to life: its values are based on integrity, kindness, honesty and fairness. Members are urged to regard the interests of the family as paramount but, importantly, Freemasonry also teaches concern for people, care for the less fortunate and help for those in need.
