In most Lodges there are eleven non-progressive officers and seven progressive officers. Lodge officers are recognisable by the jewels suspended from their Lodge collars and from the position they occupy in the Lodge.
Usually each year a Brother would progress through these offices on a path from Steward, via Deacons and Wardens, to the highest honour within a Lodge - the Worshipful Master. However, each office is subject to the choice of the Master of the year.
| Steward The first office held in a Lodge. Stewards assist at the Festive Board following meetings. | Inner Guard Sits inside the Lodge door and ensures only qualified members enter. |
| Junior and Senior Deacons Accompany candidates during ceremonies. Both wear identical collar jewels and carry wands. | |
| Lodge Mentor Promotes Masonic development and supports new members in understanding Freemasonry. | |
| Junior and Senior Wardens Senior Warden sits in the West and is usually next Master. Junior Warden sits in the South and assists in Lodge management. | Worshipful Master Elected annually. Leads the Lodge, conducts ceremonies, and chairs meetings. |
These offices are usually held by Past Masters and provide continuity and experience. Most are appointed annually, except the Treasurer and Tyler, who are elected.
